# BarJump — Your whole Mac, one click away.

BarJump puts your apps, folders, shortcuts and every corner of System Settings into one menu bar menu, and all of it a keystroke away.

- **Platform:** Mac (macOS 26.0 or later)
- **Price:** Free
- **Download:** [barjump.app/download](https://barjump.app/download) (always the newest version)
- **Privacy:** no data collected; the only request is the update check — [Privacy Policy](https://barjump.app/privacy-policy)

BarJump is an independent app for macOS, distributed directly from barjump.app, signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.

## Settings, apps, folders and shortcuts. One icon.

Pick what goes into the menu, show each source as a submenu or right in the menu, and drag them into the order you like. One icon in the menu bar instead of many.

- **System Settings** — Every pane with the icons you know, and more than 160 places inside them: pages, sections, tabs and sheets, opened directly. Put the ones you use into menus of your own.
- **Applications** — Your Applications folder as Finder shows it, with Apple's apps, your web apps and folders like Utilities in one list. Keep favorites at the top, or show only your favorites.
- **Folders** — Add any folder, like Downloads or a project folder, and browse it from the menu, subfolders included. Sort by name, date added or date modified.
- **Shortcuts** — Run any of your shortcuts, including ones that ask for input, grouped by their Shortcuts folders. Add a single folder or a single shortcut of its own when that's all you need.

## Night Shift is one click, not four

BarJump opens the exact place you're after — for example Displays › Night Shift, Wallet & Apple Pay › AutoFill Cards, Privacy & Security › Camera, Keyboard › Text Replacements, General › Login Items & Extensions or Sound › Output. On macOS 27 it covers 45 panes and more than 160 places inside them, named in macOS's own words in all 44 languages macOS supports.

## Your shortcut, three letters, Return

Press your own keyboard shortcut (any you like, for example ⌥Space or ⌃⌥J; BarJump has none until you record one) and a search panel floats over whatever you're doing. Type a few letters, and apps, settings, shortcuts and files come up together. Return opens the first match; Esc puts it away. It keeps the app you're in active, like Spotlight, and the same search sits at the top of the menu. A second shortcut of your choice opens the menu right at the pointer, like a context menu, in any app.

## Menu, submenu or hidden. Drag to order.

Every source gets one setting: in the menu, in a submenu, or not shown. Drag to reorder, add folders, shortcuts and separators, and build as many menus of your own as you like. Favorite apps can sit on top of the list, or be the only ones shown, and Recents keeps what you opened last a click away. Anything you delete is flagged in the menu and in Settings, never silently broken.

## The details

- **Menus of your own** — Mix apps, files and folders, shortcuts and Settings places in one menu, each kind grouped. Give it a folder icon in a Finder color, with a symbol of your choice.
- **Speaks your language** — Menus and settings use macOS's own wording in every language your Mac supports.
- **Fewer menu bar icons** — Settings, apps, folders and shortcuts share one icon, so Shortcuts and other launchers can leave your menu bar.
- **Always current** — Apps, folders and shortcuts are read fresh when you open the menu. No index to build or keep up.
- **Signed and notarized** — Every release is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, and updates are verified before they install.
- **Automatic updates** — BarJump checks for new versions and updates itself when you allow it, or whenever you choose Check for Updates.

## How is BarJump different from Raycast or Alfred?

They're command bars: you summon them and type, with a lot of power behind that. BarJump is a menu: you click it and see your Mac, laid out the way you arranged it. Many people use both, with BarJump as their Settings menu and their Shortcuts launcher.

| | BarJump | Command-bar launchers |
|---|---|---|
| How you use it | Click the menu bar icon, or press a shortcut to open it at the pointer; browse, or type | Press a shortcut and type |
| Best for | Seeing what's there, with a mouse or trackpad | Speed when you know the name |
| System Settings | 160+ places inside the panes, with their icons | Mostly whole panes (varies by app) |
| Languages | 44, in macOS's own words | Varies |
| Clipboard, windows, AI | None, on purpose | Often many |
| Setup | Pick sources, drag them into order | Learn commands and extensions |
| Account or subscription | None | Varies; some features paid |

## Nothing leaves your Mac but an update check

BarJump works entirely on your Mac. It never sends what's in your menus, folders or searches anywhere. The one thing it asks the internet is whether a new version is out.
